Standard Operating Procedure:
- Declaration of Originality & Author Contributions
All manuscripts must be original research and must not be under consideration by other journals. To ensure transparency, authors must include a "Author Contributions" section at the end of the manuscript (before References).
You must specify the exact contribution of each author using the following structure:
- Study Concept and Design: [Author Names]
- Database/Data Acquisition: [Author Names]
- Methodology & Modelling: [Author Names]
- Analysis and Interpretation: [Author Names]
- Manuscript Preparation (Writing & Editing): [Author Names]
Example Declaration:
"A.B. and C.D. designed the research; E.F. collected the database; A.B. performed the statistical analysis; C.D. wrote the original draft. All authors reviewed and approved the final manuscript."
- Policy on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Usage
DMST strictly regulates the use of AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly, Large Language Models). Authors must declare if AI was used in any part of the research design, methodology, analysis, or writing.
- Allowed: AI for basic language polishing and grammar correction.
- Not Allowed: AI for generating scientific conclusions, fabricating data, or conducting the primary literature review without human verification.
- Required Statement: If AI tools were used, authors must include a "Declaration of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies" statement:
"During the preparation of this work, the author(s) used [Name of Tool/Service] in order to [Reason]. After using this tool/service, the author(s) reviewed and edited the content as needed and take(s) full responsibility for the content of the publication."
- Plagiarism & Similarity Policy (Strict 15% Threshold)
All submissions will undergo a similarity check using Turnitin or equivalent software.
- Maximum Allowed Similarity: < 15% (excluding references, authors own work and standard bibliography).
- Immediate Return: Manuscripts exceeding 15% similarity will be returned to the author immediately without peer review for improvement and resubmission.
- Expedited Processing: Authors are strongly encouraged to upload their own Turnitin Similarity Report as a supplementary file during submission. This will speed up the initial screening phase.
